Coffee Story: In 2017, I inherited a coffee land that my father gave me. One manzana of farm, and this is how I begin to work hard with my husband and we have been able to grow with one more manzana. To this day we have 2.5Hec of farm, since I am a small grower and this is a new activity for me.
We sell our coffee once washed to a local buyer.
We do cleaning of the farm, pruning and shade regulation.
I only applied organic fertilizers in the farm.
We only harvest the best cherries the ones, that are ripe and we mill the very same day that has been harvested.
The fermentation takes about 24 hours and we use about 10 people to do this activity. The drying is done in a solar dome type dryer and it has a duration of 25 days. Until this year I have the opportunity to sell directly and I feel very happy to be able to sell my coffee as a micro lot.
I expect to improve the quality of life of my family and also be able to invest in a better education for my kids with the income I receive of the sale. I hope to also improve the area of farm I have and I can also try to improve my mill.
