Coffee Story: Santo Antonio Estates is the epitome of professionalism. Owning their own lab, warehouse and dry mill not only can they manage quality with precision, but they have a vehicle to share and gain from their collective years of experience. Coffee from Santo Antonio Estates is blessed with beautiful complexity. Flavours range across dark chocolate, black cherry and sweet praline, all of which are enveloped by a refined yet juicy body.
Santo Antonio is a collection of beautifully organised estates surrounding the small town of Santo Antonio do Amparo, located in southern Minas Gerais (Sul de Minas). The region’s terrain is characterised by rolling hills and a variety of different sized plateaus. Climate-wise, the zone is rather mild but can become extremely dry during the summer months.
The varietals spread across the estates predominantly consist of Bourbon, Mundo Novo and Caturra but it’s not uncommon so see Catucai, Icatu and Topazio in the mix.
Santo Antonio Estates operation is highly impressive and a great example of the unique opportunities afforded by the highly established Brazilian coffee industry. The group of farms, each of which are outstanding feats in and of themselves, have a centralised lab, warehouse and dry mill where a dedicated quality control team of Q Graders cups and manages quality for the collective. Working as a group via the lab enables these estates to share and gain from the collectives many years of combined experience. More so, having complete control of their warehouse and dry mill enables complete traceability and precise milling specifications for customers. As a result, Santo Estates continues to build a reputation for high speciality standards from the region their families have called home for generations. We’re excited to once again be bringing you this exemplar of a meticulously natural processed Brazilian coffee!
