Beans From: Nicaragua, Rwanda
Description: The first coffee of this three-part blend, comes from husband and wife producers, Yader and Karen Vladimir. Together they own a small farm in the highlands of Jinotega, in the western mountain ranges of Nicaragua. The farm, Finca El Cipres, has four hectares of beautiful coffee trees, grown under the shade of Cypress pine trees, the farm’s namesake. The coffee from El Cipres has a predominant flavour of dark chocolate and sweet honey.
The second component of this blend comes from Kilimbi Washing Station, which is perched on the shores of Lake Kivu in Southern Rwanda. Our exporting partners, Muraho Trading Company, founded Kilimbi washing station during the early months of 2016, and we’ve been lucky enough to be partnered with them since day one. This coffee has distinct characteristics of pomegranate, rosehip and a crisp citrus acidity.
The third and final part of this Mènage à Trois, is from Gathugu washing station, in the tranquil hills of Nyeri, Kenya. This coffee has prominent flavours of blackcurrant and lavender. When combined, these three coffees create a harmonious drinking experience, to be enjoyed around the dinner table, in front of the fire, or, in bed with a loved one!
